the sneak peek
Some love stories begin in the most unexpected places, and for Harper & Jonathan, theirs started at a bar in early 2020, just before the world changed. What began as a chance encounter grew into a relationship built on the simple things: quiet nights at home with their dog, late-night conversations, discovering new favourite restaurants and creating a life together filled with connection and laughter.
When they began planning their wedding, they dreamed of a celebration that would reflect who they are, a day filled with joy, warmth, and, most importantly, love. After much thought, they chose Villa Merlo Nero, Tuscany, Italy, the perfect place to say “I do.” Tucked away in the Tuscan countryside, it was the perfect setting for Harper & Jonathan’s wedding day.
Moments I Loved Capturing
One of my favourite things about filming destination weddings is that every couple creates a completely different feeling. Some weddings are full of big, energetic celebrations, while others are about the quieter moments, the meaningful glances and the feeling of being surrounded by the people you love most. Harper & Jonathan’s wedding at Villa Merlo Nero was exactly that.
The setting itself was incredible, the beauty of Tuscany creating the most beautiful backdrop for their day. The warmth of the villa and the feeling of being tucked away together made every moment feel so intimate and special. The day itself brought an extra challenge, with temperatures reaching a sweltering 40 degrees, but everyone embraced it completely. Instead of taking away from the celebration, it became part of the memory, guests finding shade, sharing laughs, bathing in aperol spritz and still coming together to celebrate Harper & Jonathan with so much joy and energy.
I also loved the live musicians throughout the day. There is something so timeless about live music at a wedding, the way it fills a space, creates atmosphere and adds another layer of emotion to the moments unfolding around you.
One of my favourite moments to capture was their cake cutting. But this wasn’t just a traditional cake moment, Harper & Jonathan actually had the chance to create their own cake alongside the chefs at Villa Merlo Nero before sharing it with their guests.
There was something so special about watching them be part of creating this experience together. It wasn’t just about the finished cake, but the laughter, connection and memory they created along the way.
As their videographer, it was a true honour to capture their day. For me, that is what makes destination weddings so special. It’s not just about how a day looks, but how it feels, the people, the atmosphere and the memories that will live on long after the final dance.
